2026In his latest work presented at “The Fire We Keep” exhibition in Delft, Xander explores the boundaries between surface and substance, and between fake and real. Machine-processed types of wood are brought together to create a unified whole that combines the organic and the artificial. In doing so, the artificial surface regains its substance, and the work therefore serves as a call for revaluation. After all, that which has no substance is worthless and can be discarded or replaced.
