While researching the architecture of Amsterdam, and herein the extent of new construction, demolition and renovation, I came across plans to demolish an iconic Louis Vuitton building on PC Hooftstraat. The building will be completely demolished, but (almost) identically rebuilt, though with a larger basement. In the end my own artistic project takes a turn. When looking for the background of the unique fence around the building site, I find myself in a lively conversation with the enthusiastic English builder of the hoarding. The contacts he gives me at LV are less enthousiastic about my direct approach.
